What helps in a first message
- What you are building, in a sentence or two.
- Where it currently hurts — the thing that made you write.
- Rough timeline, and whether there is a budget range already.
- Whether you need someone to build it, review it, or join an existing team.
A straight answer about fit follows either way, including when the answer is no.
